Abrites MN032 DAS Manager for Mercedes-Benz FBS3/FBS4

The Abrites MN032 licence is the single end-to-end aftermarket alternative for FBS4 parts exchange. It lets you work with used FBS4 modules in Mercedes-Benz vehicles: it removes the need to buy expensive new parts and lets you personalise second-hand modules safely. No dealer account is needed.

Functionalities

• Read the personalisation data from FBS4 control modules and save it to a file
• Set FBS4 electronic control modules to virgin state
• Program personalisation data to FBS4 control modules using a previously saved FBS4 file
• Program personalisation data using a previously read dump file (DFlash / EEPROM)
• VIN programming
• Read and display FBS4 status by OBDII for all FBS4 control modules
• FBS4 control module activation
• Read and clear DTCs of all FBS4 control units
• Reflashing by OBDII of all FBS4 control modules

New functionality

• Removing the "Emergency P" error (DTC example: P179A77 — the redundancy system for DIRECT SELECT has a malfunction) from the DSM module via OBDII. No need to open or replace the module.
• Removing the permanent DTC most commonly seen as P051300 — "Start Enable not issued" from the VGS-FDCT / VGS2-FDCT TCU on bench via the Abrites Distribution Box Set (ZN151). No need to replace the module.

Supported modules

Transmission control units: VGS-FDCT / VGS2-FDCT (7G DCT), VGS4-NAG2 (7G-Tronic), VGSNAG3 (9G-Tronic), VGS-DCT (8G FDCT)

• Reading FBS4 data via OBDII and saving it to a file
• Setting to virgin state via the Distribution Box Set (ZN151) for VGS-FDCT / VGS2-FDCT and VGSNAG3
• Personalisation via the Distribution Box Set (ZN151) for VGS-FDCT / VGS2-FDCT and VGSNAG3, using a previously saved FBS4 file
• Reading and writing Config, SCN coding, EROTAN and EHS by OBD — writing the config data into the donor module is very useful when only the conductor plate of the gearbox is replaced
• Reflashing by OBDII using your own flash files or the Abrites database
• The MN039 licence is needed for virgin and personalisation of the VGS4-NAG2 via OBD and diagnostic CAN

DSM (all types) in vehicles with VGS4-NAG2 (7G-Tronic):

• Reading FBS4 data via OBDII, or on bench using the CB034 cable
• Setting to virgin state and personalisation via OBDII, or on bench using CB034 — no need to open the module
• Reflashing by OBDII

All engine control units:

• Reading FBS4 data by OBDII
• Setting to virgin state and extended personalisation by OBDII: MED17, EDC17, SID310, SID307 and CRD3 ECUs (CR40 / EDC17C43, CR41 / EDC17C66, CR42 / EDC17CP46, CR43 / EDC17CP60, CR60 / EDC17CP46, CR61 / EDC17CP57, MED40 / MED17.7.1 / MED17.7.2, MED17.7.3, MED17.7.5, CRR1 / SID307, CRR1+ / SID310, CRD3, CRD3S2)
• Setting to virgin state and personalisation on bench via the Distribution Box Set (ZN151) — required for MED41 / MED17.7.7, MRD1, MRG1 and CRR2, up to 2021
• Reflashing by OBDII

Hybrid vehicle ECUs (INV20EM01 and derivatives): reading FBS4 data, setting to virgin state and extended personalisation by OBDII with no need to open the module, plus reflashing by OBDII. Electric vehicle ECUs (EM01, EM02): reading FBS4 data by OBDII.

Reflashing is very useful for repairing modules with a corrupted flash, for aligning mismatched software versions, or for updating module software.

Related licences

• MN034 is required for personalisation of MED17, EDC17 and DSM without previously saved FBS4 data
• MN040 is required for personalisation of VGS4NAG2 and VGSNAG3 without previously saved FBS4 data

What you need alongside it. Abrites lists the ZN151 Distribution Box Set, the ZN130 ABPROG programmer set, the CB012 direct CAN-BUS / LIN-BUS cable set, the CB034 DSM / ISM cable, the CB088 7G-Tronic cable and the CB030 MD1 / MG1 ECU cable as the hardware needed to complete all procedures.

An AVDI interface with an active annual subscription is required to use this licence. Delivered electronically; your AVDI serial number is needed to process the order.
