The Abrites BN020 licence programs additional keys for BMW vehicles fitted with the BDC02 (Body Domain Controller, second generation) used across the F- and G-Series, working on bench. The latest addition to the licence also allows renewal of used original keys, so a second-hand 434 MHz key can be reset and programmed to the car.
No soldering required. Connection is made with clips and plugs only. Once the first procedure has been completed successfully on bench, further spare keys can be added at any time via OBD — which is what makes this licence practical for repeat work on the same vehicle.
Functionality
- Adding a spare key to any F- and G-Series vehicle equipped with a second-generation Body Domain Controller (BDC02) — a working key is required
- Original second-hand key renewal (434 MHz) — resets a used original key so it can be programmed to the vehicle
Supported models — any software version of BDC02 installed in:
- M5 (F90)
- 5 Series (G30 / G31 / G38)
- 4 Series (G80 / G81 / G82)
- 6 Series (G32)
- 7 Series (G11 / G12)
- X3 / X4 and iX3 (F97 / F98, G01 / G02, G08)
- M8 (F91 / F92 / F93)
- 8 Series (G14 / G15 / G16)
Supported years. BDC02 is generally fitted to the models above up to around 2021, though some later cars still use this generation.
Required hardware
- AVDI interface
- ZN151 Distribution Box Set
- ZN103 PROTAG programmer
- ZN095 BDC2 bench connection cable — mandatory for the procedure
Required hardware for key renewal
Key renewal is done by connecting to the key's PCB and programming it with ABPROG; the renewed key can then be added as a spare. The procedure is non-invasive.
An AVDI interface with an active annual subscription is required to use this licence. Delivered electronically; your AVDI serial number is needed to process the order.
