The Abrites ZN059 VAG VDO Cluster Adapter is used to put VAG VDO instrument clusters into service mode — specifically dashboards with a NEC processor and the UDS protocol. Service mode is what lets the AVDI read and write the cluster for dashboard work.
Which VAG cluster adapter do you need? Abrites makes three — pick by processor and connector:
- ZN059 — VDO dashboards with a NEC processor and the UDS protocol
- ZN060 — VDO dashboards with a Micronas processor, new-style connector and TP2.0 protocol
- ZN061 — VDO dashboards with a Micronas processor and the old-style connector
Power on the bench. The adapter needs its own supply — Abrites lists it among the adapters powered by the ZN063 12V / 1A DC power adapter (the 14V / 4A supply in the ZN074 ECU reading set also works).
Where it fits in. Abrites lists the VDO and Micronas cluster adapters as hardware for the VN002 Parts Adaptation licence, which reads and updates flash and EEPROM data of Micronas MCUs and covers dashboard work, and in its VN00F and VN00K VAG software packages.
An AVDI with an active annual subscription is required to use this product.
